Laser Hair Removal

Unwanted facial or body hair is easily removed by using laser light that stops growth at the hair follicle. The laser pulses for just a fraction of a second; the pigment in the hair follicle absorbs the laser light and converts the light to heat. The heat, in turn, damages the follicle and destroys its ability to grow. Significantly less hair grows back with each treatment, ultimately resulting in permanent hair reduction.

The number of treatments required varies from individual to individual. Hair growth cycles differ on different parts of the body. Your skin and hair color, coarseness of hair as well as age, metabolism and other factors influence hair growth rate. For best results normally at least three treatments are required, with no downtime for recovery.

Treatments take as little as a few minutes to as long as an hour, depending on the area and condition being treated. Most patients experience minimal pain, although a topical anesthetic can be used prior to treatment.
